Apples n' Dip

Here are 2 easy dips to make for fresh firm apple slices.

 

Cream Cheese Dip

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

1/2 to 2/3 c. brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all until smooth. Use the brown sugar to taste. We first tried this with 1 cup of brown sugar, but found it to be too sweet.

 

 

Caramel Dip

1/2 c. real butter (this is one stick)

1/2 c. brown sugar 

Put into a small or medium saucepan, heat on low, do not let it boil. Stir with a wire whip.

 

When the butter/brown sugar are hot and smooth, add:

1 can (14 oz.) of sweetened condensed milk 

Heat all on low, stirring occasionally with the wire whip. When mixture starts to bubble/boil on edges, take off heat. Let this cool 

in the pan for a few minutes. Transfer to a *wide mouth pint jar. Let cool completely before putting a lid on. We did put this in the

fridge, it got very thick.

 

*We had a bit more than would fit in the pint jar, but no worries....everyone loved taste testing it
